I have been meaning to start this series for ages. Mainly as a way for you to find out where things are from, if you are interested but also a way of me documenting the house before (if we ever do) move. I still don’t feel like this house is finished when it comes to the decor but we have put any decorating on hold for the last six months. Our bedroom is one of my favourite spaces in the house and probably the one I have photographed the most in the last few months.

The room isn’t short of space but it does have lots of unusual corners and shapes to it. It adds amazing character but has meant I have had to choose furniture that would work well. This dressing table is perfect because it is smaller than most standard dressing tables and I wanted something that wouldn’t cover the window.

The bedding is from The White Company which is so indulgent to sleep in. A few years ago I bought linen bedding after always buying really inexpensive sheets from supermarkets and the difference was so massive that I have always made sure I had good quality bedding since then. I only have three sets that I rotate (not all from The Whole Company) and this one is my favourite.

Both Si and I have wardrobes in the spare room and so we only needed one chest of drawers for storage. This one from The Cotswold Company is lovely and big and really sturdy. It basically houses underwear and Pjs! The art is from Lumitrix by an artist called Jessica Jones and I sometimes feel sorry for it being up here for just is to see.

Favourite corner that doesn’t get used at all. We all have one of those don’t we? Boy do I love this chair. It is from Cox & Cox and I hope it will have pride of place in our next house. You may have guessed I am hoping we end up with something more contemporary in the future. I just think it would be easier to decorate and furnish. (and change around)
Hopefully I haven’t missed anything off! If I have please let me know.

It’s absolutely beautiful. I was looking at all the photos like “how can I fit that in my room?”. Your style is so lovely.
Much love, Caitylis x x

Ah thank you lovely!
What a beautiful space. It looks very homely, and the chair by your dressing table looks lovely x
What i love about your room (besides the excellent taste in decoration) is that it is not big but also it’s not small! It creates a cozy feeling and the way you have arranged everything leaves a feeling of calmness!! Beautiful colors also!
