The Confetti Fields

FOMO – I had no idea what this word meant until I absolutely lived it last year. I am talking about the Confetti Fields and the way they filled my instagram feed. I vowed that this year I would go and get right in amongst those petals, pulling out my best frolicking moves. So when my lovely friend Katrina mentioned she had planned on doing Mini shoots there I was so excited.

If you don’t know what the Confetti Fields are, then in short they are fields of flowers grown to make confetti and for one week each year they open to the public. It is the perfect setting for family portraits and this year saw glorious sunshine too which made it even nicer.

Katrina is a very talented local photographer and I have had the pleasure of doing a few shoots with her. Photography aside, she also has a real skill for getting the most out of people. My two boys are very used to being in front of the camera which now means it is hard to get those natural candid pictures of them as every time they see a camera they strike a pose. She immediately made them feel at ease and got them talking. (I’m pretty sure she even got a smile out of Si too)

Here are a selection of our photographs from the shoot.

Dont worry if you missed out on the Confetti fields as there are still some amazing alternatives that you could visit such as

Cotswold Lavender – which is open until August 5th

Hitchin Lavender – Who also have sunflower fields.

Let me know whether you visited the fields too and what you thought!

Gorg pics Cara! I drove 3.5hours to go see them this year after same reason as you. My feed was full of them last year and with an almost 2 year old in tow I was either stupid or brave. We too had a mini shoot so looking forward to see in the images. Off to lavender fields this week but they are much closer to me. Lovely post as always xx
