Oh come on. You must have known that it was only a matter of time before I devoted a blog post to my new bag. Mainly because it was a luxury purchase at £135 (which for a basket bag is fairly high end.) Also I have really fallen in love with it and the way it makes me feel very ‘fashion’. Is that ridiculous? Stay with me on this one.
I spend a lot of time on Pinterest and although I am very confident with how I dress I do feel that I lack that completely ‘put together’ look with my outfits. Thankfully pinterest inspires me all the time with fashion ideas. I will hold my hands up and say I am definitely not original. I like to see what looks great on others and find versions that will suit my particular figure. This is where I first laid eyes on the Cult Gaia bag and for me it was love at first sight.
I have been lusting over this bag since last summer and I feel confident that the trend isn’t going anywhere. We are using basket bags for more than just holidays. They carry a bunch of peonies pretty well too! So why did I buy the premium version of this bag rather than the eBay/Etsy dupes? This is where I know I will lose some of you. The mixture of wanting this bag for so long and how much I really loved it made buying a replica seem less special. I know that absolutely no one would know except me but I don’t buy items for anyone else benefit.
Maybe this bag doesn’t float your boat. I get that a lot of the things I buy will divide people. That is because fashion is so personal. It should be what you love and what makes you feel great. So with that in mind I have searched for some great alternatives across the high street.
Do you think baskets bags are here to stay? And how many is too many? (Asking for a friend)
