Beauty Products – The One’s I Cant Live Without

When I say the products ‘I cant live without’ I really mean the products that you wouldn’t want to see me without. I sport some impressive dark circles, over style my hair and the only liquid I consume is Diet Coke. It is fair to say I am taking the approach that beauty can be bought and has nothing to do with looking after yourself! (Take a look at some other ways I have bought a better face through lip fillers and botox. I am not even sorry.)

I feel a little out of place writing about beauty products. I am no expert and I always need to use a filter when I am doing an instagram story so there isn’t much beauty over here. Even so as an oversharer I feel the need to tell you all my favourite beauty products.

Make Up

Let me start by saying that I never experiment with make up. I guess that explains why, at the age of 34, I still cant do a flicked eyeliner. However I think that sometimes sticking with what you know is absolutely fine. Until you hit the next age bracket and you will need to adjust what has been working on your younger self that is. This is my go to make up.

Foundation – NYX High Definition in the shade Sand Beige (I also have a Charlotte Tilbury one for days out)

Concealer – Collection 2000 in the shade Fair. Cheap as chips but bloody brilliant!

Blusher – Bobbi Brown in shade Desert Pink

Eyebrows – Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow in the shade Taupe and I also use Glossier Boy Brow)

Mascara – L’oreal Miss Manga

Fragrance

I got into fragrance in a big way when I worked for Jo Malone a few years ago. The idea of creating bespoke fragrance through layering was just heaven for me. Maybe its that element of having something unique and special just for me or maybe its because I get bored easily and like options. Either way I own a lot of fragrance but here are my top three faves.

Jo Malone Earl Grey & Cucumber

Michael Kors Sheer

Chanel Coco Mademoiselle

Fake Tan and Skincare

When it comes to tanning I prefer to use a gradual one and make it part of my everyday routine. Otherwise I just tend to keep putting it off because I really hate fake tan on the bed sheets.I love the Garnier Summer body gradual tan but if I want to really up the anti then I use Bondi Sands.

My top skincare products are Elemis Superfood Cleansing wash and La Roche-Posay Cleansing milk for removing my make up. I love to use Elemis Superfood oil at night time and Glossier Priming moisturiser for daytime hydration. I use the Origins Out Of Trouble mask if I’m having a breakout week and the Glossier Moon Mask if not. I have found that sticking to less products has actually helped my skin recently and these seem to be the hero ones for me at the moment. Though I am keen to try more from the La Roche-Posay range.

I am going to do a separate post on hair care because I have been trying some new products and I would like to see how I get on with them first!

Let me know if you liked this post and whether beauty is something you would be interested in me writing about in more detail.

Loved this Cara! Even if you feel like you’re not an expert it’s always nice to try things that have been recommended. Desert Rose blusher is litterally the perfect neutral for you, and I think you would love a tiny bit of pale pink and opal highlighter too! Gorgeous! 💕👌🏼

I like seeing all things beauty. Just because you may not be a make up artist doesn’t mean you don’t like to take care of yourself! I love seeing the products people use and I can highly recommend the la Roche posay range- I use it for my skin care. X

Hi Cara, I’d love to see more beauty blogs and Instagram posts from you. Can I just ask which shade of the Charlotte Tilbury foundation you use and also whether you use any primer, powder or bronzer? Thanks x
