A Little Evening With The White Company

I dont mind admitting that on the first page of this years diary I had pencilled in only two companies that I would love to work with. The top of that list was The White Company. So when they invited me to an event last week I was more than happy to drop all of my parenting responsibilities onto my mum and hop on a train down to London.

With Mothers day approaching it was an evening focused on the lovely gift ideas they have for the special day along with some flower arranging with Philippa Craddock (a leading florist in London). The evening was in their Marylebone store which was beautifully laid out and much bigger than my local store, giving me an opportunity to have a look at their beautiful bedding. With a potential house move on the cards over the coming months I am always making mental notes of what I will need in the new house. I have my heart set on having a king size bed and the luxury bedding from The White Company.

When I arrived we were given the choice to work with succulents, arranging them in the Earthenware planter or to learn about arranging some spring blooms in the gorgeous Luddington vase. I have this love hate relationship with succulents. I love them and they hate me, choosing to die after a few months and so I chose the flower arranging. After all flowers never let me down.

I happen to really love receiving flowers, whether they are a £2.50 bunch from the local supermarket or something handpicked from the florist. A few tips I learnt on the night were to make sure you remove all the leaves from the part of the stem that is in the vase, cut the stem at an angle so it can absorb more water and to change your water daily to get the longest life out of your flowers.

Mothers day falls on March 11th this year so there is still time to think about how to treat your mum or maybe to drop hints on what you would love to receive yourself. Handmade personalised gifts from the little ones are always my favourite gift to receive (also read that statement as I would prefer a candle as my recycling bin is fairly full)

I had the loviest evening and I was very lucky to receive a goody bag on the night which included an apron, the Luddington Vase, Advanced Skincare Essentials Kit, Mother Of Pearl Frame, and the Fresh Grapefruit Candle which is the most refreshing, spring like scent!

Thank you so much for having me The White Company. There is an amazing Mothers day gift guide over on The White Company website if you are stuck for ideas.
