Art Prints In My Home

I want to own fancy pants art. The problem is that Si and I have very different idea’s about what amazing art looks like and until he realises that he is wrong we have compromised at buying some lovely framed prints for now. The fact that we actually need a second car slightly more than an abstract oil painting symbolising the struggle of a badgers core beliefs, also means framed prints are where we are right now.

You may not share the same passion to own some art as me, but I am sure you would agree there are some really amazing framed prints out there at the moment and I think they can really make the difference to a living space. I haven’t mastered the picture gallery wall yet but it is definitely a favourite of mine and on my to do list. (Take a look at I am Hayley Stuarts blog post for a great guide on gallery walls) Meanwhile our wonky cottage walls aren’t very forgiving of this feature wall idea. It can be frustrating hanging anything and thinking its not straight when actually the ceiling is to blame.

Most of my art is framed in Oak style frames because I think it works better in a house with loads of natural wood on display. I also think that the oak frames have a real premium feel to them too. Oliver Bonds has oats of amazing oak framed prints. I have linked them below.

This print from Lumitrix is probably the most expensive one we have. Part of me wanted to wait until we moved house to choose it but then the part of me that always wants to keep perfecting and improving the space I live in, just couldn’t wait. I do however feel like when you love an item you will find a way to make in work in any home.

Since starting this blog post it has made me realise that we have prints in every room! Even in the bathrooms! We rarely use the downstairs bathroom, otherwise I would say be careful about having prints in steamy rooms. The Ron Lawson print is my favourite because it reminds me of our house.

I am not sure what will be happening over the next few months. Whether we sell our house or stay but either way I am looking forward to adding to my art collection. Whether it be fancy pants or otherwise! Are you also a massive fan of using prints to decorate your home?

*Some of the framed prints in this post have been gifted. I had no obligation to share them and as always I only write about the things I truly love.
