So Lets Talk Botox

So Lets Talk Botox

Whether its something you have never thought about, something you want or something you completely disagree with, you cannot escape the fact that botox is becoming more accessible. As a result it has meant that more people I know have had it, leaving me thinking ‘Why not?’.

I have, for the last two years hated the deep line between my eyebrows. (Maybe even longer) I would use concealer on it in the same way as I would with blemishes. Trying to hide it, trying not to frown and forever looking in the mirror seeing nothing other than it. I already know you will think that I didn’t have a line but trust me I did. There have been countless Instagram posts/stories deleted because it was too prominent. It was there and it bothered me so much I didn’t want to show it.

(Can we take a minute to appreciate this face I pulled to show you my wrinkles)

I would even say it was the main reason behind me getting a fringe recently. I was defiantly feeling worse and worse about my appearance. A close friend of mine pointed out she had recently had botox. (Hi NB!) I was shocked that I had never noticed, she didn’t look fake, frozen or any of the things I have previously seen in the media related to botox.

So within a week of finding out where she had it done I had made my mind up to try it. I went to see Eliza who works within Cheltenham Lashes. She advised me to have three zones (Between my eye, my crows feet and the very top of my forehead) with the view that I return within two weeks to see how it had settled and if any others areas needed a pep up! The great thing about Eliza was her ability to put me at ease, answer my questions and she told me I had good skin. Who doesn’t love a compliment thrown in when you are feeling low about your appearance? I wasn’t nervous as my friend had already recommended her. (Which can be really important when you are thinking about procedures like this)

The procedure was over in minutes. The needle feels like a sharp scratch which isn’t painful. The worst thing about it was the funny noise it made as it entered my skin. After having it done I was advised not to lie down for a while, not to do any strenuous exercise and to stay make free that day to minimise the risk of any infection.

The next few days I suffered with headaches in the morning. This is normal, yet some people don’t get any at all. After about three days I could already see a difference. Two weeks later I went back to see Eliza but felt like I didn’t need anything extra as I still wanted movement in my forehead. I am so happy with the results and I think the difference has been massive. Not only physically but also how I am feeling about myself now. I feel so much more confident and my biggest regret was not doing it sooner.

Q&A

How long does it last?

Around 3 months for your first appointment but after a few appointments it should last closer to 6 months. It varies person to person.

Does it hurt?

For me it just felt like a sharp scratch and it was over really fast.

How fast will I see results?

Normally after about a week, however I noticed results after just 3 days.

How much does it cost?

£150 for the initial area and an extra £50 per additional area. Use code CARA15 for £15 off your first appointment with Eliza.

If you are local to Cheltenham and want to visit Eliza then contact her on 07882 845 325 for a free consultation.

If you have any other questions please comment and I’ll do my best to answer them.

You look fabulous! It’s so nice to see (hear?) others talk about Botox in a normal/positive way (as opposed to the judgey way it’s often discussed). I just went for it and got Botox for the first time last week and I couldn’t be more pleased. My frown lines between my eyes were the main motivator but I’m looking at crows feet next time, too. I’m with you on only regretting waiting so long to do it– I foolishly let others’ negative views of it keep me from trying something that makes me feel (and look) better.
