I really enjoy the stark contrast between both Si and my working life to our free time. We both work in very different environments but ultimately staring at a computer screen is where you will find us.
I hated any lessons around technology when I was at school but as soon as I could choose my own career path I headed straight to college to study media and from that day I have always had a camera in my hand. Im not saying I learnt anything much at college about cameras, but I did learn the joy they bring me. I feel like I fumble around my words, struggling to express heartfelt memories correctly. Pictures save me from those awkward stuttering sentences because they can capture moments and emotions so purely.
This is the driving force behind my love of the outdoors. It started with me nagging the family to go for ‘adventures’ to them actually becoming adventures. Which also means great opportunities for me to take photographs. I don’t want to revisit things I’ve said before but going outdoors literally saved me when I first became a mum. It pulled me out of a dark period after first having Harbor and even now when I feel like hiding away I head outside. That and the fact that we have two dogs who nibble on my favourite shoes if they haven’t been walked for long enough!
Needless to say we spend a lot of our free time outdoors. It helps that we live on the edge of the Cotswolds with loads of great places to explore. Not to mention this beautiful woodland area on the edge of Cleeve hill. However finding clothes that work well with this adventuring has always been something that I’ve struggled with. Mainly because I don’t want to sacrifice on style but need to be comfortable when carrying a three year old over a style, or being dragged to my knees by a basset who has smelt something magical (fox poo normally).
I have recently stumbled upon FatFace, yes Im late to the party, but what has struck me is the quality and softness of the clothes. I haven’t really taken these dungarees off for the last few days they go with so many outfits and they have big pockets! (I am a pocket fan) FatFace are currently running a competition until 16/07/17 for you to win everything you need to have an awesome summer. Enter here. Love Fat Face but I also love the happy faces in your photos, especially yours! Nothing like a good belly laugh to bring out the ‘beautiful’! x
