I guess you could say that we don’t make enough time for each other as a couple. We have been married 6 months without a date night. Is that normal? We didn’t even honeymoon. So you can imagine how excited I was when Si told me he’d book a night away to Manchester as a Valentine’s Day surprise.
Si had booked the junior suite at The ABode Manchester which was all the kinds of quirky that I love.
Especially this bench that I was desperate to steal (when in Rome and all that)
The floor was parquet throughout and our bed was big enough for me to avoid any sexy time without too much trouble 🙈
We spent a very rainy day walking around the city. We visited the football museum (yawn) and the John Ryland Library which was just incredible. Such a gothic looking building and being a massive Tim Burton fan I was feeling quite at home.
We had a table reservation booked at Artizan which has inspired me to decorate our house with things I love rather that things that I think work in a cottage.
I don’t know if it’s my age or just because I’m extra clever but nowadays I make sure I don’t drink too much because not being able to eat a full English breakfast in the morning would be too devasting. #priorites
I loved Manchester, I love how it contrasts to our sleepy village. I loved putting the world to rights and singing on the long car journeys. I don’t think I’ve laughed so much in ages. A very much needed trip with my love.
